Description	:	Obituary: "Died at home in Castana, January 12, 1912, Mrs. Rosetta O. Davis, age 70 years, 8 mo, and 7 days. Rosetta Barrick was born in New York state May 5, 1841. She was married to Jacob Odell Davis, Jan. 31, 1861. They lived in Illinois until the close of the Civil War when they moved to Missouri. In 1878, they came to Monona County and resided on a farm south of Castana until about 13 yeaars ago when they moved into town. Mr. Davis preceded his wife to the grave 4 years ago.... Read More	Obituary: "Died at home in Castana, January 12, 1912, Mrs. Rosetta O. Davis, age 70 years, 8 mo, and 7 days. Rosetta Barrick was born in New York state May 5, 1841. She was married to Jacob Odell Davis, Jan. 31, 1861. They lived in Illinois until the close of the Civil War when they moved to Missouri. In 1878, they came to Monona County and resided on a farm south of Castana until about 13 yeaars ago when they moved into town. Mr. Davis preceded his wife to the grave 4 years ago. Mrs. Davis was the mother of eleven children, ten of whom remain to cherish her love and virtues. All of the children with the exception of Mrs. Means were with their mother at the time of her death. Early in life, Mrs. Davis was converted and untiled with the M. E. church and through life has been a faithful and consistent member. Her unbounded faith in God has been her strength through all troubles, trials and temptations. She was a faithful and loving wife, a fond and devoted mother. The following names are the children: Lucretia Means, Hamburg, IA; Jessie DeVault and Ella Bowen, Onawa; W.H. Davis & J. J. Davis, Mattie Perkins, George L. Davis, Mabel Kesterson all of Castana; Charles E. Davis, Scotland, S. D. and Leda Potts of Sioux City."
