Waterloo Press Waterloo IN February 16, 1899 ROSS HENRY BAXTER was born Dec 2, 1886; died Feb 7, 1890 aged 12 years, 2 months and 5 days. He leaves a father, mother, two sisters and a brother, besides a large number of relatives. Ross was an unusually bright and industrious boy, well advanced in his studies. Always frank and honest, he was manly and mature beyond his years. He was a regular attendant, both at the public school and Sunday school. The first-born, hope and help of his parents and counsellor of his sisters and brother, he will be most sadly missed at home. He leaves this life yet in the midst of his love of its hopeful spring time and before he had tasted of the trials of its summer heat or any of its disappointments of autumn. He will be sadly missed by both teachers and pupils. Viewed from the standpoint of courage, honesty and hope for the present and future, his life has been eminently successful. May we, who know him and are left, emulate his virtues, in the hope of finally enjoying with him and those like him the sure reward of life and peace in the world everlasting. The obsequies were held at the Christian church, Rev Roberts of Pleasant Lake officiating.
