WILL DRANEY The family and friends of Mrs. Will Draney were shocked to hear of her sudden death Saturday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lola Fromme at Plains, Kansas. She was ill only an hour before her death. Roxana, daughter of the late Mr. and Mr.s S. R. Myers, was born at Morrill, March 22, 1881,. When she was a small child the family moved to a farm south of Sabetha where she grew to womanhood and married to William W. Draney on April 23, 1900 at Sts. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, Seneca, Kansas. They lived near and in Axtell for several years then returned to this community where for several years they have been living on Grant street. In 1900 she was converted to the Catholic Faith in which Faith she continued throughout her life. Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Draney and all are living. Five of Mrs. Draney's six sisters live in this community. Hers was a life of devotion to her family and friends. Ever thoughtless of herself, her days were spent in making others happy and comfortable. She was a natural nurse and found time to assist in the care of those of her family and friends, who were ill. Her philosophy of life was to make the best of every situation. She was ever cheerful, friendly and kind. Her passing brings sorrow to all who knew her. She will live on in the memory of all whose lives were made happier by her thoughtfulness and kindness. She is survived by her husband, seven sons, Alfred of Preston, Neb., John of San Diego, Calif., Emmett of Falls City, Edwin of Kansas City, Lester of Verdon. Delphin, whose home is in Hiawatha but is now overseas. Wallace of California; two daughters, Mrs. Nina Wissler and Mrs. Lola Fromme of Plains, Kan.; six sisters, Mrs. Rene Brown of Santa Ana, Calif., Mrs. Fred Sanford, Mrs. W. E. Johnson, Mrs. Ben Ransom, Mrs. John Koch and Mrs. John Johns of Sabetha; two brothers, Jim Myers of Roseburg, Oregon and George R. Myers of Santa Ana, Calif. , other relatives and many friends. Rosary services will be held at the Reinhart Funeral Home Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Thursday, October 26, at 10 A. M.
