She was buried at the Morris cemetery September 30th. The rev. Corkhill preached the funeral sermon from Matt 14-12. The services were held at the Morris Church where many of her old friends and neighbors gathered to pay their last respects to the memory of the departed. Roxanna Hinman was born in the state of New York June 12th 1808, and removed the year 1812. She was married to Oren Bradford in 1829, and came to Iowa with her husband in 1850, where she died Sept. 28th, 1888. She survuved her husband twenty-five years and twenty-eight days. She was the mother of ten children, three of whom have gone before, while seven are left to mourn her loss. She was a kind mother ever mindful of the welfare of her children, who will never forget her prayers and counsel around the family alter. She was converted in her girlhood days and joined the Free Will Baptist Church, of which she remained a member until she came to Iowa, when she united with the Methodist Episcopal Church. The last few years of her life were ones of great suffering, but at last death came, suddenly and almost unexpectly. She has gone to rest and her memory will ever knew her to be like worthy of reward when he toils of this life are done.
