Description	:	R.B. "Bob" Carpenter was the son of Roy Benona and Gracia Di Simms Carpenter. He was born on April 26, 1916 in Gainesville, Cooke County, Texas. He had one brother, Joe. Bob spend his childhood in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico and graduated from high school in McAllen, Texas. During his time in Texas he married Mildred Cleo Harrison and had two children. "Bob" Carpenter was the son of Roy Benona and Gracia Di Simms Carpenter. He was born on April 26, 1916 in Gainesville, Cooke County, Texas. He had one brother, Joe. Bob spend his childhood in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico and graduated from high school in McAllen, Texas. During his time in Texas he married Mildred Cleo Harrison and had two children. That marriage ended in divorce. Bob moved from McAllen Texas to Grand Junction Colorado in 1941 and married Wilmette Eleanor "Billie" Ramge on Dec 19, 1942. Bob and Billie had three children. Bob was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a 33rd degree Mason of the Masonic Lodge No. 173. He served the community well and was involved in many charities, including Western Colorado Shrine Club, Grand Mesa Seratoma Club and was president of the 20-30 club. He was a member of the Eagles Baseball Commission and was active with the National Junior College World Series tournament. He also served as a member of the Mesa County Valley School District 51 Board of Education. Bob was the owner and operator of Parts Service Wholesale, with his wife, until retiring from that business in 1974. Later, many knew Bob as the Ol' Memory Maker and his radio program was broadcast on many local radio stations. Bob was proceeded in death by both parents and one daughter, Patty Sue. He was survived by his loving wife, Billie,two sons: Stacy and Jeff, two daughters: Candy and Robin and 10 grandchildren and one brother: Joe. A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Callahan-Edfast Mortuary chapel with the Rev. Lonnie Eakle officiating. Rose Croix services were conducted by the Glenwood chapter of Rose Croix. Entombment of the remains was at the Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
