Description	:	Roy was the son of Richard Conway and Viola Carter. He married Josephine Henni on Nov 24, 1924 in Omaha, Ne. They were the parents of Carl Joseph and twin daughters who died in infancy (Feb 18, 1932). They were the parents of Carl Joseph and twin daughters who died in infancy (Feb 18, 1932). Jan 22, 1945 - Carroll Times Herald - Roy Conway, 61, who had worked as a clerk and had helped at the Great Northwestern station here for about 26 years, died at his home on South Maple street about noon time this morning as the result of a stroke. He was found on the floor by Mrs Conway when she returned during the noon hour from the neighbors home, where she had been working. C.C. Sullivan, county coroner and Tom Finigan, sheriff, were called but the investigation revealed that death was due to natural causes. The body was removed to the Sharp Funeral home. Services will be announced later. Mr. Conway had retired on a pension from his work at the Great Western about a month ago. He had not been in good health for some time but there was no indication that he was not feeling as well aa usual when Mrs. Conway left the home this morning. He is survived by his wife and one son, Carl, who is serving in the Navy. As a young man he lost his right leg in an accident while attempting to board a freight train. He was working in the Iowa muzzle factory, which was then located in the eastern part of Carroll. It had been the practice of the boys working thereto board a freight from the east that arrived about the time they quit work at the factory. On the evening of April 19, 1909, Mr Conway was injured in catching hold of the railing on one of the box cars, he lost his hold and was thrown down from the moving Chicago & Norhthwestern train. His right leg was caught by the wheels and cut off 4 inches below the knee.
