He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James Boyd Darter and three brothers. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Marie Darter of Dardanelle; two children, Jimmy Loyd Darter of Dardanelle, Sharon Farris and husband Mark of Dardanelle; two sisters, Betty Morris and JoAnn Grimes; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00A.M., Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle. Visitation will be held Tuesday, 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M. at the chapel. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Dixon, Rex VanBuren, Ben Garrison, Dean Tinsley, Bill Darter and Kody Farris. Honorary Pallbearer will be Paul Bartlett.
