Hatcher, 65, of Shelbyville, died in the Wright Hospital, Trenton, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, of a heart ailment. Mr. Hatcher suffered a heart attack Saturday morning while attending an MFA meeting in Trenton and was taken to the hospital. Mrs. Hatcher reached his bedside before he died. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Shelbyville Methodist Church. The Rev. J. B. Scholl officiated, assisted by the Rev. T. E. Spurling. Burial was in the local I.O.O.F. [Shelby Memorial] Cemetery. Mr. Hatcher became a member of the MFA in 1917 and for 35 years devoted much of his time and means toward the progress of the Association. He was elected Vice President of the Association in August of 1941 and served continuously in that capacity having been re-elected unanimously each year. He was President of the Producers Produce Company of Shelbina, Missouri, for twenty years and served as Director of a number of MFA cooperatives including MFA Oil Company, MFA Central Cooperative, MFA Mutual Insurance Company, Producers Produce Company of Sedalia, MFA Cooperative Grain and Feed Company of St. Joseph, Farmers Livestock Commission Company of St. Louis, Farmers Union Livestock Commission Company of St. Joseph, Farmers Union Livestock Commission Company of Kansas City, and Producers Creamery Company of Chillicothe. He served as superintendent of the Shelbyville Methodist Church Sunday school for many years. Mr. Hatcher was born near Shelbyville on August 8, 1886, a son of the late Frank and Orinda (Robison) Hatcher. On September 1, 1909, he married the former Velma Feely. They lived on a farm northwest of here [Shelbyville] until 1943 when they moved into Shelbyville. He had suffered from a heart ailment for the past two years. Survivors include the widow; two sons, Guymon Hatcher of Shelbina, and Richard Hatcher of Santa Rosa, CA; a daughter, Mrs. George Bode, Jr. of LaBelle; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Hollenbeck of Shelbyville; nine grandchildren, Miss Charlotte LeFevre, who lived with her grandparents; Carole Anne and Kay Elaine Hatcher of Santa Rosa; John Wesley, Janet Marie, and Jimmie Ray Bode of LaBelle; Roy Eugene, Ina Ruth, and Nina Lou Hatcher of Shelbina.
