Description	:	Roy D. Allgaier, 92, died Friday, March 10 at the Prarie Good Samaritan Center. Mr. Allgaier was born September 24, 1885 at Kankakee, IL, the son of Adolph and Sarah Allgaier. After the death of his mother when he was six years old, he lived with aunts until he made his own way at the age of 12. On August 26, 1905, he married Henrietta Tammen at Kankakee, IL. Allgaier, 92, died Friday, March 10 at the Prarie Good Samaritan Center. Mr. Allgaier was born September 24, 1885 at Kankakee, IL, the son of Adolph and Sarah Allgaier. After the death of his mother when he was six years old, he lived with aunts until he made his own way at the age of 12. On August 26, 1905, he married Henrietta Tammen at Kankakee, IL. To this union two children were born, Earl and Evelyn. He worked for the Chicago Street Car System. In 1908 they moved to South Dakota and homesteaded at Ludlow in Harding County until moving to Hand County in 1918. His wife, Henrietta died in January, 1966 after 62 years of marriage. On October 5, 1969, he married Mrs. Dorothy Molesworth. Since January, 1973 they have lived at the Prairie Good Samaritan Center. Mr. Allgaier was active in Conservation and was instrumental in getting the Rural Electric program started. He was on Township and School Boards in Hand County and was active in the Republican party. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and served on many boards there. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, Miller; one son, Earl Allgaier, Arlington, VA; one daughter, Mrs. Wilbur (Evelyn) Jones, Miller; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one brother, Emory Allgaier, Maitland, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, one brother and one sister. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 4 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Greenough officiating. Visitation was Monday afternoon and evening. Interment was in the GAR Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ralph Zieger, Francis Koeck, Art Hibbison, Ted Jennings, Melvin Lorbeer and Howard Peterka.
