He was 52 years old. Mr. Hendricks was born June 22, 1889 at Hendricksville, Indiana. he was the son of John and Lillian Brooks Hendricks, prominent residents of the community. Hendricksville was named after the Hendricks family. At the age of 21 he enlisted in the United States Army at Jefferson Barracks, Mo. and was soon transferred to Fort Worden where he served the rest of his term of enlistment. He was honorably discharged on February 5, 1914. He later was employed for a number of years at a hoist engineer at the Port Ludlow sawmill and later was employed by the Olympic Pile Driving Company here. Mr. Hendricks was married to Agnes A. Hammer of Hadlock March 2, 1914. He leaves a sister and three brothers, all residing in Indiana, and two sons, Ralph James and Earl William Hendricks of Irondale. Mr. Hendricks held memberships in Port Angeles Lodge #72. I.O.O.F and the Port Townsend Aerie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was also a member of Local 302 of the Hoisting Engineers Union. During his illness he was confined for a time at the Marine Hospital, Seattle. The funeral services at Carroll's Mortuary chapel Tuesday afternoon were in charge of the Eagles and the Rev. Walter B. Bell. Interment was in the Eagles cemetery here. Music was by Mrs. DeVillo Lewis and Mrs. Louis DeLeo, pall bearers included William Coffel, William Cunningham, Roy Cromwell, Charles Miller, N.E. Rogers and Arthur Stone, all Eagles. Mr. Hendricks resided in Port Townsend recently and was formerly in the Irondale-Hadlock area.
