Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs. Caul, whose maiden name was Agness Alida Hammer, was born March 14, 1895 in Hawthorne, Wisconsin and resided in this district 38 years. She attended school at Hadlock and was married to Edwin A. Caul in Moscow, Idaho, April 19, 1933. After short residence in Kent she and her husband moved to Irondale, where they since made their home. Her two sons, Ralph Hendricks of Port Townsend and Earl Hendricks of Irondale served overseas in the famous 101st Airborne Division, both receiving the purple heart. Other survivors include her husband at Irondale; two grandchildren, William and Susan Jane Hendricks, Port Townsend; her mother Mrs. Ida Hammer, Hadlock; six sisters, Mrs. Lyall Eldridge, Hadlock; Mrs. Herbert Walters, Chimacum; Mrs. William Sutherland, Winslow; Mrs. Harold Dollar, Irondale; Mrs. Helga Dickenson, Port Orchard; and Mrs. W. J. Beckman, Port Townsend; five brothers, Elgot, Harold, Carl, Earl, and Roy Hammer all of Hadlock, and 19 nieces and nephews. Mrs. Caul was a member of the Lutheran Church. The Rev. Curtis Gilchrist officiated at the funeral Tuesday and Mrs. Ray Burns sang, accompanied by Mrs. E.D. Sturrock. The pall bearers were Ray Martin, H.O. Bryant, Conrad Svegaard and Alfred Eldridge, all of Irondale, Dave Bengtson, Hadlock, and Howard Eldridge, Chimacum. Burial was at Chimacum.
