Description	:	UNION - Roy Ratcliffe "Rat" Medford, 76, of 203 Louise St., died Aug. 19, 1997, in Mary Black Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. A native of Clyde, N.C., he was a son of the late Manuel L. and Lula Jane Green Medford. He was a member of the Union Church of God and was a retired electrician with Milliken & Co., Monarch Plant, after 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Read More	UNION - Roy Ratcliffe "Rat" Medford, 76, of 203 Louise St., died Aug. 19, 1997, in Mary Black Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. Survivors include a son, R. Edwin Medford of Spartanburg; two sisters, Nannie Marie Black of Mauldin and Margaret "Maggie" Southard of Summerville; two brothers, Floyd Medford of Campobello and Arville Medford of Union; and two grandsons. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in Union Church of God, conducted by the Revs. Alton Stone and Lacy Jones. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. The family is at the home of his brother, Arville Medford, 276 Vernon Foster Road, Union.
