Roy Wilber Holloway, the son of William Orville and Emma Caroline (Hansen) Holloway, was born on the family farm west of Aurora, Nebraska on October 6, 1912 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on August 13, 2005, at the age of 92. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school through the 8th grade. On February 14, 1934, he was united in marriage to Valetta Grace Marvel at Central City. They farmed south of Aurora for many years and moved into Aurora in 1974. Valetta passed away on July 18, 1992. Roy was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church and belonged to A.A.R. P. He was a 4-H Leader for many years, member of the school board and Farm Bureau and a County Committee Person. In 1984, Roy received the Annual Pork Producers Award. Roy did carpentry work and made toys and gifts for family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; grandson, Todd Holloway; two brothers Maurice and Russell and a sister, Eunice Barber. Those left to cherish his memory are his five children, Myrtle (Melvin) Hinrichs of Omaha, William (Betty) Holloway of Grand Island, Robert (Karen) Holloway of Aurora, Wilbur (Joyce) Holloway of Alma and Maime (Jerry) Salmon of Geneva; 21 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Mae Sawyer of Grand Island; two sisters-in-law, Darlene Holloway of Aurora and Margurite Holloway of Lancaster, California; special friend, Thelma Salmon and many nieces and nephews.
