Description	:	Ruby Blanche Mahaffey, 91, of Sterling, died Jan. 1, 2004, in Sterling. Visitation will be today until 6 p.m., and Jan. 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. at First English Lutheran Church with Rev. Andrew Dimit officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Otis Cemetery in Otis. Mrs. Mahaffey was born Feb. L4, 1912, in Wilsonville, Neb., to Otto and Sadie (DeMoss) Muchow. She graduated from Otis High School in 1931 and then trained as a nurse in York, Neb. After graduation she worked at Eben Ezer Hospital in Brush and at Logan County Hospital, then known as Good Samaritan Hospital. On Jan. 14, 1938, she married Calvin Mahaffey in Otis. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church. Mrs. Mahaffey is survived by husband Cal Mahaffey, Sterling; daughter Judy Marley, Dewey, Ariz.; sisters Roberta Bolinger and Ruth Sprenger, both of Greeley, and Rozetta Anderson, Otis; brother Robert Muchow, Otis; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchil dren; and many nieces and nephews, She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother. Memorials may be made to The Lutheran Hour.
