She was born on August 21, 1914, at Richland, Kansas, a daughter of Jerry T. and Edith May (Doane) Cummings. Read More	LINCOLN, MO- Ruby Eunice Bean, 93, of Lincoln, Missouri, formerly of Overbrook, Kansas, died Sunday, December 30, 2007, at Lincoln Community Nursing Home, Lincoln, Missouri. She was born on August 21, 1914, at Richland, Kansas, a daughter of Jerry T. and Edith May (Doane) Cummings. On July 29, 1935, at her parents home in Richland, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Jesse E. Bean, who preceded her in death on January 15, 1978. In 1979, she was married to Jess Merle Wadsworth and was divorced in 1994. She lived most of her life in Kansas and in 2001, she moved into an assisted living home in Sedalia, Missouri. She had worked as a telephone switchboard operator, operated a restaurant, wallpapered many homes, drove a school bus, and worked as a housekeeper in a nursing home. While living in Kansas, she was active in many organizations. She was a 50-year member of the Fidelity No. 38 Eastern Star of Carbondale, Kansas, serving as Worthy Matron in 1956, 1961, and 1977; a member of the White Shrine of Topeka, Kansas, serving as Worthy High Priestess in 1980; a member of the Thimble Club, Rotary Club, Cosmos Club, and Senior Citizens, serving as president for two years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Overbrook, Kansas, and of the United Methodist Women, serving as president in 1980, and Sunday School Class President in 1991 and 1995. She is survived by: four sons, Jerry Bean and his wife Shirley of Lincoln, Missouri, Harry Bean and his wife Ursula of Punta Gorda, Florida, Raymond Bean and his wife Marion of Buena Park, California, Dr. Kenneth Bean and his wife Di of South Vietnam; five grandchildren, Jeffery Bean, Susan LaRoche, Julie Seydel, Laurie Chapman, and Michael Bean; and nine great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Edith Cummings, two sisters, Laura May Lutz and Harriett Drane, and four brothers, Charles Cummings, Archie Cummings, Harry Cummings, and Raymond Cummings. Eastern Star and funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, January 5, 2008, at the United Methodist Church, Overbrook, Kansas. Burial will be in Overbrook Cemetery, Overbrook, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday, January 5, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Overbrook, Kansas. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2008, at the Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp, Missouri, with Rev. Bill Siebert officiating. A visitation will follow. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to United Methodist Church in Overbrook, Kansas, Overbrook Cemetery, or Overbrook Volunteer Fire Department in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp, Missouri.
