Ruby Hazel Anderson was born February 10, 1912, in Kintyre, ND, the daughter of Hans and Milla (Ihlen) Anderson where she was also baptized. She was the seventh daughter of nine children. The family moved in December of 1912 to Juanita, ND and settled on their farm. She was confirmed at Glenfield Lutheran Church. Read More	Ruby Pewe, 96, McHenry, ND., died Friday, February 29, 2008, at Carrington Health Center in Carrington, ND. Ruby Hazel Anderson was born February 10, 1912, in Kintyre, ND, the daughter of Hans and Milla (Ihlen) Anderson where she was also baptized. She was the seventh daughter of nine children. The family moved in December of 1912 to Juanita, ND and settled on their farm. She was confirmed at Glenfield Lutheran Church. She attended Campbell #1 rural school and graduated from Carrington High School in 1930. She taught school at her home school district in rural Juanita, ND, for three years and received her Life Certificate from Valley City State Teachers College in 1934. She taught at schools in Barlow, rural Cathay, rural Birtsell, and Drayton, all North Dakota. In 1959, Ruby went back to teaching the rural school north of McHenry until it closed, and then taught for ten years in the Glenfield-Sutton School District. On June 15, 1938, Ruby was united in marriage to Louie C. Pewe of McHenry, ND, in Bismarck, ND. They lived the rest of their lives together in McHenry until Louie's death December 9, 2001. Ruby enjoyed raising flowers, crocheting, dancing and her family. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, McHenry. In earlier years, she held Ladies Aid offices, and always loved to attend church at Our Saviors along with Bible Study. She is survived by her two sons, Larry (Carol) Pewe, Edinburg, ND and Allan (Dorine) Pewe, Topeka, KS; eight grandchildren, Kimberly (Owens) Agbonmoba, Fargo, ND, Marianne (Marcus) Windingland, Edinburg, ND, Kelly (Robert) Weisz, Hazen, ND, Penny (Chris) Davidson, Evansville, WI, DuWayne Pewe, Edinburg, ND, Suzanne (Richard) Vorhies, Topeka, KS, Charles Pewe, Overland Park, KS, Daniel (Michelle) Pewe, Topeka, KS; eight great-grandchildren; Darin Lee, Robyn Lee, Justin Weisz, Danielle Weisz, Brandon Davidson, Ryan Cates, Nathan Pewe, Cami Pewe. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, six sisters and two brothers.
