Description	:	Ruby J. Sanders, 84, Sidney, passed away early Thursday morning, Oct. 2, 2008, in the Sidney Health Center Extended Care facility in Sidney following a long illness of natural causes. She was born July 28, 1924, in Geraldine, to Charles and Edith (Moline) Richardson. She was raised in Geraldine, Denton, Coffee Creek and Geyser areas, completing her education in Geyser. Sanders, 84, Sidney, passed away early Thursday morning, Oct. 2, 2008, in the Sidney Health Center Extended Care facility in Sidney following a long illness of natural causes. She was born July 28, 1924, in Geraldine, to Charles and Edith (Moline) Richardson. She was raised in Geraldine, Denton, Coffee Creek and Geyser areas, completing her education in Geyser. In 1941 she was united in marriage to Walter Wirtala, Geyser, and they had three children, Edd, Bonnie and Lois. In 1951 she was united in marriage to Gus Hoeffner, and they had one son, Larry. In 1961 she was united in marriage to Gordon Sanders in Fort Benton. They lived in Butte, and she worked as a nurse's aide there and in Great Falls. They moved to Geraldine in 1962, and she worked in Fort Benton. They leased a bar in Geraldine, and she worked with her husband there. In 1995 they moved to Sidney where they have made their home until the time of her death. For many years Ruby was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Painter Brothers Unit #102 in Geraldine. After moving to Sidney, she enjoyed the company of many at the senior center in Savage and Lambert. She enjoyed playing cards, sewing, crocheting, as well as collecting craft ideas, fabric and yarn. Ruby is survived by her husband, Gordon, Sidney; one son, Larry Hoeffner, Sioux Falls, S.D.; two daughters, Bonnie Wirtala, Gillette, Wyo., and Lois Zillges, Olympia, Wash.; one daughter-in-law, Carol Wirtala, Casper, Wyo.; one brother, Dan Richardson, and one sister, Viola McClure, both of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Edd. Memorial graveside services at Geraldine Cemetery. Sidney Herald (MT) - 7 Oct 2008
