Description	:	Ruby Violet Steffens was born Oct. 4, 1911, the daughter of Harold and Emma (Rowley) Steffens at Rowan. On June 16, 1928, Ruby married Evan Sauter. They farmed in the Aurelia area until moving into town in 1959. Ruby then worked as a receptionist at the Wharton Funeral Home. Ruby was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia. She had been a resident of Sunset Knoll Retirement Home since July 24, 1998. Preceding Ruby in death were her parents, her husband Evan on Sept. 14, 1964; her daughter Halli'e Bailey; two sister, Irene Norris and Bunetta Reiter; and one brother, Royce Steffens.
