Description	:	Obituary Russell Albert Dangel was born July 20, 1956 at Viborg, SD to Albert and Gerladine (Mark) Dangel. He grew up at Hurley, received his baptism and confirmation at St. Boniface Catholic Church and attended Hurley Public School. After serving in the Army, he returned to Hurley and owned and operated Dangel Trucking and Hurley Communications. On May 6, 1995, he married Suzan Morehouse at Parker, SD. He grew up at Hurley, received his baptism and confirmation at St. Boniface Catholic Church and attended Hurley Public School. After serving in the Army, he returned to Hurley and owned and operated Dangel Trucking and Hurley Communications. On May 6, 1995, he married Suzan Morehouse at Parker, SD. Russ received his pilot's license and aviation was his first love. He owned and operated Dangel Agri-Air and was a crop duster and crop sprayer. He used his aviation skills to assist law enforcement with Turner County Search and Resue. He lived in the Hurley area his entire life and had served as the mayor of Hurley and also was a member of Joppa Masonic Lodge of Hurley. Grateful for having shared his life are Suzan, a son Ryan, Sioux Falls, a grandaughter Rylan, 3 brothers Joe Dangel, Lennox, Glenn Dangel, Sioux Falls,SD, and Scott Dangel and his wife Jill, Hurley SD. and 2 sisters, Tera Marshall and her husband Glenn, San Antonio, Texas, and Sandy Erickson, Irene, SD. He is preceded in death by his parents. Russ was a pilot, he mentored several new pilots. After his death, a scholarship fund was set up for student pilots through the South Dakota Pilots Association at: http://www.sdpilots.com/Becker-Hansen_Scholarship.htm
