He was born Sept. 6, 1936, in Verndale, Minnesota, to the late Wendell and Gladys Oliver. On Aug. 29, 1964, he married Alva Carolyn Hampton. He was an accomplished bowler who also loved baseball and enjoyed coaching in his younger days. He was active in his children’s sports and is remembered as a hard worker who never missed a day of work in order to be a good provider for his family. He helped many people on their journey to sobriety and he was respected by many for that commitment. He is survived by daughter Brandee F. Oliver; son Matthew W. Oliver; sister Helen Talley (John) of Buckley; brothers Bob Oliver (Verda) of Montesano, Wash., and Glen Oliver (Sharon) of Buckley; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alva Carolyn, on May 4, 2015.
