Description	:	ANSON - Russell Gilman Smith, 82, passed away peacefully in his home on March 25, 2016, in the loving comfort of his family. Russ was born in Anson on March 10, 1934, the son of Herbert and Mildred Smith. Russell was predeceased by his wife, Maxine J. Smith, on July 15, 2007. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Jack Smith, Lawrence Smith, Royal Fogg and Robert Smith; as well as his sister, Ruth Young. Read More	ANSON - Russell Gilman Smith, 82, passed away peacefully in his home on March 25, 2016, in the loving comfort of his family. Russ was born in Anson on March 10, 1934, the son of Herbert and Mildred Smith. Russell was predeceased by his wife, Maxine J. Smith, on July 15, 2007. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Jack Smith, Lawrence Smith, Royal Fogg and Robert Smith; as well as his sister, Ruth Young. Russ is survived by his son Benjamin Smith of Anson, his daughter Gail Hoyt and her husband Mike of Monmouth, son Bernard Smith and his wife Nancy of Anson, and his son Glen Smith and his wife Kelly of Winthrop. Russell is also survived by his grandchildren, Lacaya Hoyt, Erin Smith, Jason Smith, Amy Smith, and Spencer Smith; as well as his great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Elizabeth and Samuel Smith; a brother, Kenneth Smith of Cornville; and his special chum, his dog Bandit. Russ was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He was a hardworking man with many talents including millwright, machinist, welder, lumberman and licensed boiler operator. He was a man of many stories and enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. Russell will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends who feel fortunate to have had him in their lives for so many years.
