Read More	Salina Journal Sunday, October 1, 1989 Russell "Bud" Bigler CLAY CENTER — Russell "Bud" Bigler, 74, Clay Center, died Friday, Sept. 29, 1989, at the Clay County Hospital, Clay Center. Mr. Bigler was born on July 24, 1915, at Clay Center and was a lifelong resident. He owned and operated the Bigler Body Shop, Clay Center, until 1973, and later worked at the Skinner Body Shop until retiring. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Clay Center, the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, AF&AM 134, Salina Consistory, ISIS Shrine, ISIS Pipes and Drums, and the Order of Eastern Star. He also was a past Clay Center City Council member. Survivors include his wife, Jessie Empson of the home; two sons, Richard of Overland Park and Michael of Clay Center; a brother, Raymond of Junction City; five sisters, Myrtle Young, Merna Johnson, Darlene Bloom, and Georgia Marshall, all of Clay Center, and lone McCown of Lake Oswego, Ore.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Clay Center, the Rev. Robert Fleenor officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center. Memorials may be made to the Shrine Burn Center. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Monday at the Neill-Schwensen Funeral Home, Clay Center.
