Ruth was born in Lima, Ohio in 1941 to the late Arthur and Aline Schaaf. She studied at Bowling Green State University, majoring in Business Administration, later marrying Bert O. Coburn, her high school sweetheart. She and Bert started Midwest Accessory Company and she worked as the Office Manager and Bookkeeper for over 20 years. Read More	Ruth Aline Coburn (Ruthie), a lifelong resident of Ohio, passed on September 8, 2018 in Dublin, Ohio. She was 77. Ruth was born in Lima, Ohio in 1941 to the late Arthur and Aline Schaaf. She studied at Bowling Green State University, majoring in Business Administration, later marrying Bert O. Coburn, her high school sweetheart. She and Bert started Midwest Accessory Company and she worked as the Office Manager and Bookkeeper for over 20 years. She and Bert divorced in 1987 and she moved to Columbus in 1988 where she retired from ABB Group as an Executive Administrative Assistant after many years of service. Ruth was an expert seamstress and loved to sew for herself and her friends and family. She took pride in making special projects like handmade Christmas tree skirts, quilts, wall hangings, and outfits for friends and family. She loved music, playing piano, accordion and guitar. Her favorite song to play on the accordion was 'Cherry Pink & Apple Blossom White". She was a devout Christian Scientist, dedicating much of her time to the church Reading Room and music program. She is survived by her brother, John A. Schaaf, and sister, Mary K. Schaaf and leaves behind her son, Bruce A. Coburn (Wife Beth) and daughter, Kris E. Franca (Husband Rich) and grandchildren Erin M. Coburn and Nash R. Franca. Interment will be at Bluelick Cemetery, Lima, Ohio with a private ceremony for immediate family.
