Description	:	Ruth A. McKibben, 86, life-long resident of Skagit Valley, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at Life Care Center of Mount Vernon. Born December 23, 1919 at the family farm in Burlington, she was a daughter of Thomas E. and Lois (Friedley) Vercoe. She was a 1937 graduate of Burlington High School. Don passed away in June of 2000. She was a long-time member of... Read More	Ruth A. McKibben, 86, life-long resident of Skagit Valley, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at Life Care Center of Mount Vernon. Born December 23, 1919 at the family farm in Burlington, she was a daughter of Thomas E. and Lois (Friedley) Vercoe. She was a 1937 graduate of Burlington High School. On February 20, 1939, she was united in marriage to Donald L. "Don" McKibben in Olympia. The couple made their home in Mount Vernon until 1944 when they moved to Burlington. Don passed away in June of 2000. She was a long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. Her employment consisted of working with Don at their dairy farm. She was also an accountant and bookkeeper for the Dairy Herd Improvement Association, and for many years with the Burlington Sales Pavilion. Ruth loved doing craft work and in her younger years she enjoyed woodcarving. She was also a collector of dolls and antiques. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Susan McKibben of Burlington; her brother, Claire Vercoe of Mount Vernon; her sister-in-law, Ruth Vercoe; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Don; her brother, Tom Vercoe; her sister and brother-in-law, Lois and C.S. Reichel, two sisters-in-law, Doris Vercoe and Leal Vercoe. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, July 27 and 28 at Hulbush Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2006 at the Burlington Cemetery under the direction of Hulbush Funeral Home, Burlington. A reception will follow at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1515 East College Way, Mount Vernon 98274. Remembrances are suggested to the Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund.
