Mrs. Heston died at an Osceola hospital Wednesday. Ruth Baird Marquis, daughter of J. B. and Irena Marquis was born near Osceola, Iowa, July 17, 1897 and despite all medical skill could do for her, passed away at an Osceola hospital July 12, 1939, at the age of 41 years, 11 months and 25 days. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Heston on may 19, 1923 at Chariton, Iowa. To this union was born one son, Keith Owen. She was converted in the Christian faith and baptized at the age of 14 years, and is a member of the Woodburn Church of Christ. She was a successful school teacher in the rural schools for several years, and after her marriage, she and her husband made their home their entire married life on the same farm near Woodburn, Iowa. Ruth was of a kind and cheerful disposition, always considerate of those around her. To know her was to love her. She was a loving companion and good neighbor. She realized her going and said Jesus had called her. She was preceded in death by her mother who passed away in 1917. To mourn her loss, she leaves a husband and infant son, her father, J. B. Marquis and wife of Decatur City; her husbands parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Heston of Woodburn; four sisters, Mrs. Will Feight of Des Moines; Mrs. Roland Sweeney of Afton; Mrs. Orval Werts of Ft. Dodge; and Mrs. John Bethards, of Garden Grove. Three brothers, Manning E. of Kansas City, Mo.; Wade of Decatur City; and Garold of Des Moines. Two step brothers, Carl and Roy Rhoady of Decatur. A number of uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces besides many other relatives and a host of friends. The funeral services were held at the M. E. church at Woodburn at 2 p. m. The singers were Mrs. Gilbert and Morris Keeney, Mrs. Lawrence Marquis and Mrs. Guerney Marquis. The pallbearers were: ray James, John Lowe, Oren Marquis, Ivan Henry, George Riley and Willie McClure. W. L. Foster in charge.
