Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MST Thursday, at Bethel United Church of Christ, south of New Salem, with the Rev. Ken Trana officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, at Elm Crest Manor in New Salem; and after noon Wednesday, at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, New Salem. Read More	Obituary Bismarck Tribune (Nov 07, 1999) NEW SALEM -- Ruth Held, 94, New Salem, died Nov. 7, 1999 at the New Salem nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MST Thursday, at Bethel United Church of Christ, south of New Salem, with the Rev. Ken Trana officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church. Ruth Wullschleger was born on March 26, 1905 at Hudson, Kan., the daughter of Gustav and Elizabeth (Schaub) Wullschleger. She moved with her family to North Dakota in 1919, when her father was called to serve as the Pastor of Bethel Church. She married Fred Held on Feb. 24, 1927. She and Fred farmed south of New Salem until 1958, when they retired and moved into town. Fred died in 1965. Ruth enjoyed reading, poetry and music, as well as quilting and crocheting. She became a resident of Elm Crest Manor in May of 1997. She is survived by her daughters, Helen Kruger and her husband, Keith, New Salem, and Elizabeth Held, Bismarck; two sons and three daughters-in-law, Marvin and Joyce, New Salem, Willard and Mary Ann, Moorhead, Minn., and Donna Held, Devils Lake; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; her sister, Irene Bopp, New Salem; and her brother, Herbert Wullschleger and his wife, Pauline, Marion, Kan. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Vernon. (Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan)
