She formerly lived at 210 Caldwell street in Ottumwa. Her death followed a heart attack. The former Ruth Donaldson, Mrs. Havens moved from Ottumwa to Des Moines in 1945. She was preceded in death by a son, Walter Joseph, and by a brother and a sister. The body has been returned to the Johnson funeral chapel, where funeral arrangements are pending. "Havens Funeral," From "Ottumwa Courier, January 11, 1956: Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Havens, 61, wife of William Havens, Des Moines, who died at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines Monday, will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel here. The Rev. W.B. Friend, pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God, will be in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery. Mrs. Havens was a former Ottumwan. Pallbearers will be Richard Trimble, Morris Trimble, Harold Trimble, Joe Tee, Donald Copple and John Fredrickson.
