Services were Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sutton with Rev Judy Nuss officiating. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery. Services were Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sutton with Rev Judy Nuss officiating. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery. Ruth was born October 27, 1919 to Otto and Martha (Huber) Griess, the oldest of eight children in York County, NE. She received her education at rural country school until the eighth grade. On October 4, 1940, she married Gideon C Redler, and they farmed north of Sutton until they retired and moved into the community of Sutton. One of the things Ruth was proud of was teaching her family how to make the best fried chicken, pies, kuchen and springerles It was her fried chicken that won her husband's heart. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid in Sutton, Extension Club and Sutton Women Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and crocheting. She had won Best of Show at the Clay County Fair for her hair-pin lace crocheted afghan. Ruth took great pride in caring for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Susan and husband Dave Ehly f Sutton, NE; grandchildren, Sheila and husband Jeff Ochsner and their children, Levi and Dillon all of Sutton; Natalie and husband Ben Torell and their children Hiatt and Cooper all of Lincoln, NE; Ted and wife Melinda Ehly and their child, Mason all of Saronville, NE; son Lowell and Barb Redler of Dakota Dunes, SD; grandchildren, Traci and husband Matt Rose and their children, Brilee, Blake and Brooke all of Gretna, NE; Teresa and husband Bill Orlando and their children,Carter, Julia and Addison all of Dakota Dunes, SD and Troy and wife Sara Redler and their children Sophia and Evelyn all of Dakota Dunes, SD; Trina and husband Drew Royer of Lincoln, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gideon C and great-grandson Cole Ochsner.
