She was born near Batavia on March 13, 1902, the daughter of William R. and Celesta Brown. She spent most of her life in Wapello and Jefferson counties and had lived on a farm north of Agency for the past 35 years. Mrs. Dimmitt was a member of Bladensburg Christian Church. She was born near Batavia on March 13, 1902, the daughter of William R. and Celesta Brown. She spent most of her life in Wapello and Jefferson counties and had lived on a farm north of Agency for the past 35 years. Mrs. Dimmitt was a member of Bladensburg Christian Church. Her marriage to Glenn O. Dimmitt took place on Aug. 22, 1922. He survives. She also leaves a son, Walter Dimmitt, at home; a brother, Wyman Brown of Gary, Ind.; and a sister, Mrs. Illa Dixon of Land O'Lakes, Wis. One son preceded her in death. The service will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Jay Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Frahm of Bladensburg Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Smith, Grover Elsensohn, Doyle Quick, Fred McCoy, Carroll Atnipp, and Robert Dimmitt. A memorial fund has been established payable either to the Bladensburg Christian Church or to the American Cancer Society.
