Born in Wapello County, Jan. 19, 1901, the son of Lincoln and Mary Robinson Dimmitt. He lived in Wapello County all his life and was a member of the Agency Masonic Lodge. He was married to Ruth Brown on Aug. 22, 1922, and she preceded him in death in 1965. Survivors include one son, Walter of Route 7; one sister, Lena of Ottumwa; and three brothers, Noble of Agency, Earl of Ottumwa and Lee of Washington. He also was preceded in death by one sister. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Jay Funeral Home, the Rev. Leonard Sammon officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
