Description	:	Ruth L. Thayer the oldest child of eight children of Leroy and Erma Keller Carriker was born June 27, 1921 at Harvard, Nebraska. She departed this life on Tuesday, May 03, 2011 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home in Harvard, Nebraska at the age of 89 years. Ruth attended Sunday School beginning when she was a very small child at the First Evangelical Church near Harvard. Read More	Ruth L. Thayer the oldest child of eight children of Leroy and Erma Keller Carriker was born June 27, 1921 at Harvard, Nebraska. She departed this life on Tuesday, May 03, 2011 at the Rest Haven Nursing Home in Harvard, Nebraska at the age of 89 years. Ruth attended Sunday School beginning when she was a very small child at the First Evangelical Church near Harvard. Ruth later joined the church and sang in the choir and taught Sunday School as well as playing the piano when needed. After the closing of the Evangelical Church Ruth became a member of the Methodist Church in Harvard and was very active with this church as well. Ruth started to school at District #68 and completed her education by graduating from Harvard High School with the class of 1938. After high school Ruth held various jobs before working for the Ed Leutzinger family at Minature, NE until May of 1940. On January 21, 1942 Ruth was united in marriage to Raymond Mohlman at the home of her parents. The couple made their home north of Hastings. To this union was born Bernice Louise, Donald Raymond and John Leroy. This marriage ended in divorce. On June 10, 1962 Ruth married Cleo LaVern Thayer at the Methodist Church at Harvard, NE. Ruth and Cleo moved to a farm near Nora, NE where they remained an farmed for many years until moving to the Harvard House in June of 2010. Besides being very active with the Methodist Church, she had been involved with the 4-H as well as a cub scout leader. She is preceded in death by her parents, son John Mohlman and two sisters. Survivors include her husband Cleo Thayer of Harvard, NE; daughter Bernice McCorquodale of Lake Charles, LA; son Donald Mohlman of Topeka, KS grandchildren: Jay Schriner, Brenda Negri, Clayton Mohlman, 28 great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one sister, four brothers, nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, NE.
