Ruth was born in Alliance on May 15, 1914 to Otto and Ella (Snoddy) Matz. On September 25, 1934 she was united in marriage to Elmer P. Brown in Alliance. She is survived by children, Linda Clatterbuck and husband Charley of Ashland, Nebraska, Bob Brown and wife Kathy in Tilden, Nebraska, Nancy Giff and husband Marty in Bellevue, Nebraska. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tom Laing, Jr., Brent Clatterbuck, Kim Juracek, Shannon Brown, Megan Hanson, and Colin Giff, her 7 great-grandchildren and her sister, Helen Bartels of Alliance. She was preceded in death by husband, Elmer Brown, daughter, Patricia Laing, and grandson, Bruce Clatterbuck, her brothers, John Matz and Charley Matz, and her sisters, Ella Kosmicki and Wilma Myers. Ruth was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She moved to the Omaha area 16 years ago to be closer to her children. Burial was in the Alliance Cemetery, Alliance, NE.
