Read More	Ruth Berg, 80, Minot, died Saturday, February 21, 2009 with peace and dignity following an eight year struggle from Alzheimer's with her family by her side. Ruth Marie Brown was born on November 22, 1928, daughter of Harry and Mabel (Pederson) Brown in Berthold, ND. She was raised and educated in Berthold, graduating in 1946. She worked at the Minot Daily News, and then received her teaching certificate from Minot State Teachers College and taught in a one room country school near Heartland, ND. On February 28, 1949, she was united in marriage to Joseph Berg. They made their home in Minot, where Ruth was a homemaker with seven daughters. They were one week shy of celebrating 60 years together. Ruth was an award winning talented seamstress, always working on a craft project whether it be knitting, crocheting, sewing, ceramics or painting. She loved to bake and her homemade buns were always a hit at any social gathering. Ruth was proud to be a member of the Catholic Daughters for the past 50 years. Ruth was known to hop a train at a moment's notice to visit family members out of state. The Berg family would like to thank all the staff at Edgewood Vista and Trinity Homes for the care extended to Ruth, Joe and family. We always knew she was in good hands. Those who shared her life; Husband of 59 years Joe, Minot; Daughters: Marie Berg-Spector, Debby Berg-Carmine, Patty (Tom Lund) Berg, Nancy Berg, Mary Jane Berg, Becky (Neil) Harski, Molly (Paul) Pashibin; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Swett, Katie Carmine, Michaela Krefting, Aaron Wagner, Paris Pashibin, Savannah and Sydney Harski; two great-grandchildren: Ruthie Jo and Echo Swett; sister: Jeanette; brothers: Jack Brown, Joe Brown, Ralph Brown, and Darrell Brown; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mae, brothers Jim, Maynard, Harold and Harry Jr. Visitation: Monday from 3-7 at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Vigil Prayer Service: Monday at 7 pm in the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home chapel, Minot Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at 11 am at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot Memorials received will be donated to the ND Alzheimer's Association or St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
