Read More	PENDELL, RUTH MILDRED—At the home of her grandparents at Seward, Neb., at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 1906, of cholera infantum, Ruth Mildred Pendell, only child of Dr. G. D. Pendell, aged 1 year, 6 months and 20 days. It was a shock to the community when word came Sunday morning that little Ruth Pendell had died the night before at Seward at the home of her father’s parents, where she had been since her father went to California a year and a quarter ago. Little Ruth’s mother died at the family home in Geneva a few weeks after Ruth’s birth and she has been very tenderly cared for by her father and his people. For a few months after her mother’s death, Dr. Pendell kept her with him in Geneva. When Dr. Pendell returned the first of last week from his brief visit to the Canadian northwest, he stopped at Seward and found little Ruth ill, and he remained with her till the end came. Reed Pendell, a brother of Dr. Pendell, came down from Seward Sunday afternoon and made arrangements for the funeral. The remains came down from Seward on the Northwestern train Monday evening and were taken to the home of Prof. C. W. Taylor for the night. The funeral took place from the Congregational Church at 9 a.m. Tuesday and was conducted by Rev. L. G. Parker of the Methodist Church. The Nebraska Signal Oct. 5, 1906 pg. 6.
