A memorial service will be Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at 6 p.m. in Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home. Officiating will be Dr. Tony Hopkins. Burial will follow Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, at 2 p.m. in Andrews Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Andrews Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home following the burial Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Mrs. Wallace was born Dec. 28, 2001, in Trio, the daughter of Isla Rebecca Jeffords and William Thomas Rowell. She was educated in Andrews schools and was a 1935 graduate of Winthrop College. In April of 1937, she married James Ehrlich Wallace of Hebron. They both taught in the Williamsburg County schools, where she retired after teaching Home Economics for 40 years. She was a member of Trio Methodist Church, where she served as church secretary and treasurer and president and secretary of the Women's Missionary Society. She also served on the church board. She was a Watch Care member of Edgefield First Baptist Church. She moved to Edgefield in 1990. Surviving are her daughter, Becky Turner of Edgefield; four grandchildren, Wiley IV, Ann, Andy and Becky; five great-grandchildren, Wiley V, Drew, Margaret, Sarah and Kristin Turner; and three sisters, Marion Rowell McCormick of Georgetown, Martha R. Sarratt of Tampa, Fla., and Corintha R. Truesdale of Kershaw. She was predeceased by her husband; a sister, Isla Mae R. Williamson; and three brothers, William Thomas, Robert Ervin and Horace L.
