Description	:	MORGAN, SAMANTHA, J.—Samantha J. Morgan, whose maiden name was Phillips, was born in Jefferson county, Indiana, November 11, 1857. She died at her home in Geneva, September 18, 1926, at the age of 68 year 10 months and 7 days. Morgan, whose maiden name was Phillips, was born in Jefferson county, Indiana, November 11, 1857. She died at her home in Geneva, September 18, 1926, at the age of 68 year 10 months and 7 days. In the seventeenth year of her age she united with the church of Christ and adorned her profession by a life of devotion to the gospel of Christ. She was married to J. H. Morgan December 23, 1875. Two children came to their home, one daughter, Mrs. Jessie L. Smith of Superior, Neb., and one son Albert Virgil of Moscow, Idaho. Both were here for the funeral. Besides the husband and two children, she leaves her mother at the advanced age of 92, one brother and one sister, six grandchildren and a great company of friends to mourn her departure. Her mother, brother, and sister live in Madison, Ind. In the fall of 1880 the family came to Fillmore county. Here she helped to build the home which is about three miles from Geneva. The many friends and neighbors know that she was a quiet unassuming woman, living in the home and for the home rather than in the eye of the public. This does not mean that she was not interested in public affairs, but that the home life came first in thought and action, in any special public capacity. Her life may be described as was said of one of old, "and her works do follow her." Of such we can say, "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." The funeral took place from the family home in Geneva, at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday and was conducted by Rev. Mr. Beattie of Bethany. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
