Description	:	Samuel Allen McClure died Saturday evening February 14, while being taken to a Central City hospital following a stroke which occurred while he was doing chores at his home northeast of Palmer. He and Mrs. McClure had spent the day in Grand Island, and although he had suffered from a headache, he had not been otherwise ill. (Funeral details followed.) Burial was in the Burke Cemetery. Samuel Allen McClure was born Sept. 15, 1872 at Tama county, Iowa. He was the son of Daniel and Mrs. McClure and came to Merrick county in June, 1873 and has made his home here ever since. May 9, 1896 he was united in marriage to Alena Mae Hanna, and thirteen children were born to this union. Two children preceded him in death. Those left to mourn are his wife and children, Mrs. Arthur Larson of Central City; Mrs. Gladys Glover, Grand Island, Mrs. Fred French, Cheyenne, Wyo.; Miss Thelma of Florida; Miss Margaret of Columbus; Burton of Scottsbluff; Mrs. Francis Gay of Columbus; Glen of Chapman and Ted of Palmer, Floyd, Grand Island; Betty of Palmer; seventeen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Irvine of Central City; Walter and William and one sister, Elizabeth.
