Description	:	Brown Douglas Dies Monday Author of Lincoln Play Succumbs At 81 Brown Douglas, 81, prominent member of the Knights of Pythias and author of the play "Life of Abraham Lincoln," died at 2:25 a.m. Monday in St. Rita's hospital following an illness of three weeks. He resided with a daughter at 800 Richie-av. Douglas, a retired bookkeeper for the Lima Lime and Stone Co., was prominent in K. of P. lodge dramatic activities, having often traveled to other cities for presentation of plays. He was born in Hope-co but had been a resident of Lima the past 70 years. He was a member of the Market Street Presbyterian church where he had been an elder for 25 years and treasurer for five years, retiring in 1942. He is survived by the daughter, Mrs. John Nice of Lima; two sons, Harry of Lima and Clarence of Toledo; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Basinger of Lima, and Mrs. Laura Andrews of Tenafly, N.J., and seven grandchildren. The body will remain at the Chiles and Son funeral home where services will be held in the chapel at 3 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Cornelius Nicholas Bakker officiating.
