Description	:	Cumberland people were both shocked and saddened when it became known Monday morning that Samuel F. Trott, section foreman of the O. R. and W. railway, had died very suddenly just as he was about to begin his day's work. R. and W. railway, had died very suddenly just as he was about to begin his day's work. Upon arising Monday morning Mr. Trott left home without eating any breakfast telling his wife he was not hungry. Arriving at the depot he went on to the car house where he was suddenly stricken. James Quarterman, one of the section men, was with him and immediately summoned a doctor but death had resulted almost instantly from a stroke of paralysis. The remains were taken to the E. R. Tom funeral home and prepared for burial being removed to his home later in the day. Mr. Trott had been for a number of years section foreman on the O. R. and W. railway. He was a quiet, industrious man and had many friends who will be very sorry to learn of his sudden death. OBITUARC Samuel Francis Trott, son of Samuel Francis and Mary Elizabeth Trott, was born September 21st, 1868, near Pleasant City, O. Departed this life January 16, 1928 at the age of 59 years, three months and 26 days. He was united in marriage September 26, 1889, to Sarah Viola Cronin. To this union were born four children, two daughters and two sons, Velma, Alta, Henry R., and Howard C. The eldest Velma preceded her father to her heavenly home July 29, 1910. Henry, Howard and Mrs. Ray Wills of Buffalo with their mother are left to mourn the loss of a departed husband and loving father. He also leaves four grandchildren, Gail of Buffalo; Beatrice, Gerald and Eugene of Cambridge; two sisters Mrs. Nettie Burr of Zanesville, Mrs. Jeney Wilson of Cumberland, and three brothers Gassaway and Allen Trott of Young Hickory and Richard Trott of McConnelsville, besides a host of relatives and friends. He accepted Christ in youth and under the pastorate of Rev. B. L. George he and his wife united with the Cumberland Methodist Episcopal Church where he ramined a member until death. He was a member of the local P. O. T. M. tent. The funeral is being held this Wednesday morning from the home, conducted by his pastor, Rev. J. Augustus Bretz. Burial in Cumberland Cemetery beside his Daughter. "The vacant place, the vacant chair We see it day by day; And O, it fills our hearts with care Since our loved one went away. Fare-the-well, for we all loved you Even more than tongue can tell. Little did we think you'd leave us Now we bid you a long farewell." Relatives here to attend the funeral are: Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Baird Canton; Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Burr, Mrs. Lizzie Doan, Zanesville; M. and Mrs. Ray Wills and daughter Gale of Buffalo.
