After his first wife's death Samuel married the sister of his brother Henry's wife. Mary Sherman born in New Brunswick the daughter of Daniel Sherman on Aug 11, 1844 (intentions Aug 5 Dennysville) in Perry Maine. They had children, the first born in December of 1845, Mary Ellen, Almira "Myra", Edith, Samuel G., Alice P., Hannah S., Daniel and Benjamin F. In 1860 Samuel and 2nd wife Mary are in Dennsville with children Eliza R born abt 1841 and Martha G. born abt 1844, and children by Mary (Sherman) Mary E, Elmira C, Edith L., Samuel G., Alice P., Hannah S., and Daniel S. They had an additional child Benjamin F born about 1862. There is a small stone as would be used for a child in the cemetery beside Samuel and his 1st wife Mary G. Name cannot be read. Samuel and Mary are in the 1880 census in Dennysville, living next door to his brother Stephen H. Jones. Samuel is 65 born in Maine, a a wheelwright, and Mary S. is age 61 born in New Brunswick.
