Description	:	Greenville Samuel Martin "Sam" Hester, Jr., 78, of Thornblade Crossing in Greenville, passed away August 25, 2014, in Costa Rica. Born in Laurens, he was the son of the late Samuel Martin Hester, Sr. and the late Geneva Stewart Hester. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A U.S. Air Force Veteran, Mr. Hester was the owner and operator of Advanced Business Systems in Greenville. Read More	Greenville Samuel Martin "Sam" Hester, Jr., 78, of Thornblade Crossing in Greenville, passed away August 25, 2014, in Costa Rica. Born in Laurens, he was the son of the late Samuel Martin Hester, Sr. and the late Geneva Stewart Hester. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A U.S. Air Force Veteran, Mr. Hester was the owner and operator of Advanced Business Systems in Greenville. Sam had a heart for missions, having helped in Nicaragua and other countries, and was very active in a Christian motorcycle club. He is survived by: daughters, Debra H. Smith and husband Randy of Easley and Suzanne H. Smith of Clinton; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Billy Hance of Laurens; grandchildren Brent Hester of Greenville, Cara Smith of Easley, Samantha Erwin and husband Andrew of Joanna, and Anna Smith of Clinton; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Phillip Erwin. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Michael Hester, and his former wife and longtime companion, Caroline Kennedy Hester. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 30, 2014, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel, conducted by Rev. J.D. Putman, Jr. He will be buried at a later date with his wife and son at Patterson Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
