Services are pending with the Williams Funeral Home, Edgar, Nebraska and tentatively will be held in Nelson, Nebraska. ====== Sandra Kay (Whitehead) Rogers the youngest of 10 children was born January 3, 1939 to Alvin and Mae (Rundquist) Whitehead in Nelson, Nebraska. She departed this life on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 74 years. Sandra graduated from Nelson High School in 1956 and was united in marriage to Gary Culbertson that August. To this union three children were born, Vickie, Ivan and Rita. Sandra was a bookkeeper and had numerous bookkeeping jobs during her life. She moved to California in 1986. Sandra was united in marriage to Don Rogers in 1991 and continued to live in California until moving back to Nebraska in 2003. She is preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Myra and an older sister, Beverly Whartman She is survived by her husband Don of Edgar, NE; children Vickie (Culbertson) Shuck, Ivan Culbertson, Rita (Culbertson) Shuck and husband Greg all of Edgar, NE; Don Rogers Jr and wife Lisa of Sacramento, CA; 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Chiz Whitehead, Rusty Osowski, Daphne Corman, Donna Rae Feehan, Pete Whitehead, Barney and wife Veda Whitehead and Red and wife Rose Whitehead. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many lifelong friends near and far. Memorial services will be held this Saturday 2:00 PM September 28, 2013 at the Nelson United Community Church of Christ. Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry and Rev. Rich Maciejewski will be officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at wmsfh.com. Williams Funeral Home of Edgar, NE is in charge of the arrangements.
