A. Garman, near Millerton. She was 78 years, 6 months and 12 days of age. A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Yeager, she was born in Juniata county, Pennsylvania. She was one of nine children and was the last of her family to pass away. A. Garman, near Millerton. She was 78 years, 6 months and 12 days of age. A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Yeager, she was born in Juniata county, Pennsylvania. She was one of nine children and was the last of her family to pass away. Mrs. Strayer was twice married, her first husband being Israel Garman. After his death she lived alone for six years, caring for her children, and was then married to David Strayer. Following his death in 1908 she came to Nebraska and for seven years has lived with her son. She was the mother of five children of whom only two are living. They are L. A. Garman and Mrs. George Mahlin of David City. Five grandchildren survive her. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Garman home and were conducted by Rev. M. L. Melick, pastor of the Lutheran church in Rising City. Mrs. Strayer's four grandsons, Harvey, Edgar, Jay and Eugene Mahlin, acted as pallbearers. Interment was in the Millerton cemetery. Those coming from away to the funeral were D. Y. Branthoffer of Kearney, Mr. and Mrs. J. Mahlin of Smithfield and Eugene Mahlin of Fremont. Since the days of her childhood Mrs. Strayer had been a consistent Christian and true follower of the Lutheran faith. Contributor: Dennis Krebs (46896060)
