Read More	Stratford Courier November 4, 1926 OBITUARY Sarah Bell Neese Sarah Bell Neese was born in Putnam county, Indiana, March 28, 1852, and died at the home of her son, G. M. Neese, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Oct. 22, 1926, having reached the ripe age of 74 years, 6 months, and 24 days. Deceased came from her native state with her parents, Benjamin and Sarah Bell, in the same year of her birth, and took up abode in Hamilton county, Iowa. She grew to womanhood in the vicinity of Homer and when 17 years of age she began teaching school. For a number of years she was one of the early successful teachers of Hamilton county, and was much loved by all of her pupils. At an evangelistic meeting which was being held at Homer, she was one of the first to confess her faith in Christ and in obedience to Him became a member of the Church of Christ. Her unfaltering faith sustained and comforted her through her long life and as she neared the end, and knowing that she was going to depart, said, "I am going to die happy." On March 25, 1871, she was united in marriage to William Neese and they moved to Stratford and in this place and vicinity she spent the most of her life. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother and a highly esteemed neighbor and friend. She was one of a family of eight children, three of whom preceded her in death, one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Jones, and two brothers, John and Jasper N. Bell. The husband passed of from this life March 24, 1923. Deceased is survived by four children. They are: Mrs. R.V. Kinney of Mound, Minn.; G.M. Neese, of Fort Dodge; Mrs. N.C. Omstead, of Webster City, and Mrs. R.G. Bubeck, of Winnebago, Minn. There are also three grandchildren, Miss Opal Kinney, Elston Omstead and Roy Bubeck, Jr. There are four sisters and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jennie Kornes, of Chicago; Mrs. Biddie Wolfold, of Pilot Mound, Minn.; Mrs. Martha McDougal, of Ogden; Mrs. Amy Dietz, of Albia; Mrs. Jasper Bell of Webster City, and Mrs. John Bell of Portland Oregon. Besides these, there are many who will remember her kindly for her helpful influential life, and whose hearts will be saddened at her passing. The body was brought to Webster City and the funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. N.C. Omstead, conducted by the Christian minister, Manson E. Miller, and the body laid to rest in beautiful Graceland cemetery.
