In early childhood she removed with her parents to Ohio, from there going to Illinois where she met and married Geo. B. McConnell on Dec. 23, 1868. They removed, to Jasper Co., Iowa in 1871 where their two children were born. Pushing on with the moving tide of immigration they came to Nebraska, settling at Deweese, where they spent the greater portion of their lives, her husband passing away four years... In early childhood she removed with her parents to Ohio, from there going to Illinois where she met and married Geo. B. McConnell on Dec. 23, 1868. They removed, to Jasper Co., Iowa in 1871 where their two children were born. Pushing on with the moving tide of immigration they came to Nebraska, settling at Deweese, where they spent the greater portion of their lives, her husband passing away four years ago last May. One of their daughters, Mrs. Olive Warboys, preceding her to the world beyond Jan. 14 of this year. Mrs. McConnell attained the age of 63 years, 11 months and 14 days. Besides Mrs. C. L. Athey, the only living child, she leaves a sister, Mrs. Dora Rhodes of Sioux City, la., two brothers, James Beam, of Woodard, la., and H. P. Beam, of Nebraska City, Nebr., and eight grandchildren. The most important part of this life sketch is that when fourteen years of age she plighted her faith to Jesus Christ united with the M. E. church and kept the faith, being at the time of her death a member of that church at Deweese. "Servant of God, well done, Thy glorious warfare past, The battle o'er, the victory won And thou art crowned at last." Funeral services were conducted, by Rev. E. M. Reed at the M. E. church, Frinay (sic), Oct. 27, at 2:00 P. M. and the body was laid to rest in the Fairfield cemetery (sic).
