Sarah is found on Union County, NC censuses in 1850 (with parents & sister Elizabeth J.); 1860 (with mother & sister Elizabeth J.); 1880 (with mother, same sister, and daughter, Sophronia - aka "Fronie"); 1900 (with same sister, daughter and two younger children mis-labeled as her children but instead her grandchildren -- Henry J. & Mary L.; 1910 (with sister now listed as Jane & daughter "Frona"). Mary L. is believed to be the Lula Gibson marrying Will Gibson in Union County, NC on Sept. 25, 1915. She lists her mother as Sophronia Gibson and notes her as dead in 1915 (marriage license found at Ancestry.com Library Edition). Her death record at Family Search also lists the same mother. (Mary Lula or Mary Lou Gibson dies Jan. 24, 1984 and is buried at Ebenezer AME Zion in Midland, Cabarrus County, NC). No record of marriage has been found for Sarah -- she is listed as single on all census records except for 1910 when she is listed as widowed (listed as married on her death certificate). Martha and daughters, Sarah Ann & Jane, are listed in Walter Gibson's estate papers (found at Family Search). These show his month/year of death as October 1855. Sarah has a will drawn up June 27, 1910 in which she names her "beloved" sister Jane as the only one to inherit her "undivided one-half interest in forty two acres" of land and all of her personal property. (seen at Ancestry.com Library Edition). The graves of Sarah & Jane were listed in "A Supplement to Union County Cemeteries" compiled about 1984 indicating they had markers. A 2017 visit of the cemetery proved this to be true and we now see that Sarah and Jane share a marker. Her death date matches her death certificate and her marker. No obituary notice has been found in The Monroe Journal (Aug. 9, 16, & 23 checked). Her birth date: It is listed as Aug. 20, 1845 on her death certificate but the reading of her marker around 1979-1984 has her birthday as Feb. 2, 1811--this was a mis-reading of her marker for the 2017 photo of her marker has the year as 1844. Her answer on the 1900 census for her month/year of birth was Feb. 1844.
