Description	:	Sarah Ann Rookwood Forman is the daughter of Hiram Rookwood and Charlotte Owens. She is sister to: Thomas B.,Hedgeman (twin to Sarah),Julia Amelia,George,Lydia,Martha J.and Elizabeth. Sarah's father Hiram Rookwood moved the family from Virginia to Missouri [Black Creek Township in Shelby county] in 1835. She married Benjamin Franklin Forman on October 20,1836 in Shelby County, Missouri. Officiated by Rev.Henry Louthan. Theirs was one if the first marriages in Shelby county after the counties organization. Both Benjamin and Sarah's families were some of the first pioneer settlers of the county. This is the last note found about the family cemetery: Forman-Rookwood Family Cemetery. Black Creek Township, Shelby county, Missouri. From the records of the Shelby County Historical Society (approx. 1971)…East of Bethany Church. Buried in garden of E.F. Forman Farm. Graves unmarked. Farm now owned (As of about 1971) by T.W. Christine. Buildings and fences removed and being farmed over. Extinct.
