Pedrick Died in Phoenix, Ariz. Mrs. Anna E. Pedrick, 70, wife of H. C. Pedrick, Douds hardware and furniture dealer, passed away suddenly at her home in Phoenix, Ariz., where she and her husband were spending the winter. She was stricken with a heart attack in the early hours of the morning Tuesday, March 16, and died a short time after. She had been in good health until the time of her death, which was quite unexpected and came as a deep shock to her family. Mrs. Pedrick had been a resident of Douds for the past 30 years and prior to that most of her life had been spent in Ottumwa. She was a member of the Douds Methodist church and had always been active in the work of her church and other community affairs. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Madeleine Jacobson of Grinnell; two sons, Loren Pedrick of Phoenix, Ariz. And Clarence Pedrick of Douds; one granddaughter, Cynthia Ann Jacobson; three grandsons, Ben and Lee Pedrick of Phoenix and Bob of Douds; one sister, Miss Edna Edmunds of Ottumwa; and one brother, H. L. Edmunds of Ottumwa. Funeral services are pending the arrival of relatives. Hand written “1948” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mrs. H. C. Pedrick Rites Held Saturday Final rites for Mrs. H. C. Pedrick, 70, were held at the Pedrick funeral Saturday, with the Rev. Reynolds C. Murdock in charge. Special music was given by Jay Doud, Forrest Hanshaw, R. V. Finney and M. H. Finney. Mrs. Harold Harryman was pianist. Burial was in the Mt. Moriah cemetery, with nephews acting as pallbearers. Annie Edmunds Pedrick was born on April 10, 1877 in Chatham, Canada, daughter of Lewis and Charlotte Edmunds. Early in her childhood the family moved to Kirkville, Iowa, and from there to Ottumwa, which was her home for many years. As a young girl, she was organist in the Presbyterian church and active in church activities. In 1897 she was united in marriage with Harry C. Pedrick. Their early years o0f marriage were spent in and around Ottumwa until moving to the Douds community in 1914. Since that time Mrs. Pedrick has been an active participant in Douds community life. She has served in the capacity of church and Sunday school pianist and in all church work was a willing and the able worker. Her family and friends will always remember her ready smile, her sense of humor and her sincere desire to be of service. Mourning her passing are her husband, Harry, her sons, Loren of Phoenix, Ariz. And Clarence of Douds, and her daughter Madelyn Jacobson of Grinnell, four grandchildren, Ben and Lee of Phoenix, Robert of Douds and Cynthia Ann of Grinnell, a brother and a sister, Harry and Edith Edmunds of Ottumwa and a large number of devoted nieces and nephews.
