He passed away in Valley, Nebraska, on January 1, 1913, while the demise of his wife there occurred on December 31, 1912. Unto them were born seven children as follows: Sarah Belle, who was born on June 5, 1857, and died in 1902, Mary Virginia, who is the wife of C V Crooks of Omaha, Nebraska Carrie E who gave her hand in marriage to J W Johnston of Ayrshire, Iowa, Georgiana, deceased, George H of this review, John S an agriculturist residing in Webster City, Iowa Ima Grace the wife of J S Kennedy of Valley, Nebraska. George H Stanger acquired his early education in the district schools at Boone and when twenty-three years of age entered the State University of Iowa at Iowa City. Having determined upon the practice of medicine as a life work, he took up the study of that profession in the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Chicago, which institution conferred upon him the degree of M D on March 31, 1892. He at once opened an office in Boone, Iowa and that city has remained the scene of his professional labors throughout the intervening twenty-two years. An extensive an lucrative practice has been accorded him, and he has won a merited reputation as an able physician. On June 27, 1900 Dr Stanger was united in marriage to Miss Katharine Champlin a daughter of Frank and Lavina (York) Champlin, who took up their abode among the early settlers of Boone this state. The Doctor gives his political allegiance tot eh democracy and is identified fraternally with the Masons, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Knights of Pythias. Both he and his wife are freely accorded the hospitality of many homes and their genuine person worth has gained for them the warm and enduring regard and friendship of all. Info below was added by FAG contributor Cathy Boone County Democrat July 18, 1902 Mrs. Alfred Cummings died at her home in Webster City on Wednesday evening at 5:15 o'clock, of a complication of diseases. The remains were brought to this city yesterday evening on No 5 and the funeral will take place today from the residence of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Stanger, 303 West Seventh street, Rev. Mott Mitchell will officiate and interment will be in Linwood. Mrs. Cummings, nee Sarah Belle Stanger, was born at Virginia Grove, Iowa, on June 6, 1857. In 1876 she removed with her parents to this city, Mrs. Cummings was twice married, her first husband, James Franklin, dying in 1896. On September 12, 1900, she was united in marriage to Alfred Cummings, who survives. Two children by her first husband together with a husband and parents, Mrs. C.J. Crooks of Fremont, Neb., Mrs. Carrie Johnson of Curlew, Iowa, Miss Ima Stanger, two brothers, Dr. G.H. Stanger and John Stanger survive. Spouse was James Andrew Franklin. Married at Baltimore, Maryland July 27 1881 Cause of Death was Tuberculosis. Children George Raymond Franklin B. Boone Iowa Aug 27 1882 d 1888 Henry Earl Franklin b.
