Description	:	South Kansas Tribune, Wed., Sep. 21, 1881 Mrs. Sarah Caldwell, wife of John Caldwell, died last Saturday, the 17th and was buried Sunday, on Ben. Murphy's place. Her death was caused by a cancer on the side of her mouth, which eventually got through the entire system. She was born in Jefferson county, Virginia, and was 61 years old. Her death was caused by a cancer on the side of her mouth, which eventually got through the entire system. She was born in Jefferson county, Virginia, and was 61 years old. She moved to Iowa with her husband and her son, J.J. Caldwell, where I first became acquainted with her, 28 years ago. She was then, as when she died, a true Christian. Mrs. Caldwell was among the old settlers of Kansas, having lived in Kansas as early as 1860. We first knew her in 1866, in Coffey county. From there she moved with her husband to Missouri, from there back to Franklin county, then to this county, about the year 1870. From here they moved to Indiana. In the fall of 1873, and after an absence of two years they returned to Montgomery county, having made their home here ever since. She leaves on son, Mr. J. J. Caldwell.
